Four Players In Double Figures Lead BU to Win

BLOOMSBURG--Bloomsburg University placed four players in double figures to post an 83-44 win over Stevenson University on Monday night in a non-conference women's basketball matchup.

The Huskies used a 25-4 run over a 12 minute stretch covering the final 3:05 of the first half and the first 8:55 of the second half to 59-30 lead. Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill/Haven/Schuylkill Haven) led the charge by scoring 10 of the Huskies first 13 points in the second half. Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg South) added six points in the outburst, while Lara Giselle (Toronto, Canada) scored five. The closest the Mustangs got the rest of the way was 27 points.

The game was close in the early going with the Mustangs holding an early 12-10 lead six minutes into the game. The Huskies came back and went in front by eight, 25-17, after a jumper from Gallagher with 7:41 left in the half. Bloomsburg later extended the lead to 10 points on two occasions before heading to the locker room with an eight point margin, 36-28.

Gallagher finished with 20 points and seven assists, while Kegerreis scored 19 and had 13 rebounds and four blocked shots. Kelly Joyce (Ashland/Cardinal Brennan) chipped in with 14 and Lauren Healy (Glenmoore/Owen J. Roberts) scored 10 for the Huskies.

Stevenson, 1-6, got 12 points from Tara Galvin. Bloomsburg, now 5-2, will play at Columbia Union on Saturday at 6 p.m.
